Japanese Natural Finishing Toishi Whetstone - Ozuku Mizu Asagi Koppa

This exceptional Japanese Ozuku Whetstone was purchased by us from the estate of a collector of fine Japanese hones. It measures 170 mm long × 90 mm wide × 19 mm tall with a weight of 617 grams.

Hardness: LV 5 (really hard)
Very high quality Ozuku Mizu Asagi with Goma. This is our favorite type of Ozuku for razors. It looks nearly black when dry and turns into beautiful, deep Mizu Asagi color when wet. 
This is an extremely hard and dense koppa that is perfect for razors. When using Mikawa Nagura, the base stone doesn't release much of itself at all, if any. This makes feedback very readable and straightforward. The resulting edges were extremely comfortable and keen. 
This stone is too hard for use in knives.
