Japanese Natural Finishing Toishi Whetstone - Mizu Asagi San

This exceptional Japanese unknown mine Whetstone was purchased by us from the estate of a collector of fine Japanese hones. It measures 198 mm long × 40 mm wide × 20 mm tall with a weight of 440 grams.

Hardness: LV 4.7
Very hard and fine San size, narrow razor/chisel hone. Beautiful, dark, deep Mizu Asagi color with Goma.
Mikawa Nagura progressions work very well with this stone. If you like narrow hones, this is a top quality stone with gentle feel for its hardness. A bit of the stone is released when slurrying with Nagura but the feedback is still very clear. It has moderate cutting speed and silky feel under the weight of the razor. Water only honing yielded the same silky feel. Edges are very keen and comfortable.
