Stone Details:

Hardness: LV 5
Shiroto is a tunnel within the Ozuku mine that was exploited for a short period of time. These stones are very rare. This example is a very hard Asagi that works extremely well with Mikawa Shiro Nagura progressions as it releases little to none of itself during slurrying.
The stone is an extremely dense Tomae with fast feel on the stone. It really highlights any imperfections on the razor as the undercut is easily read. Keeping the slurry nice and diluted is a great way to feel exactly what's happening during a Nagura progression with this stone.
For knives, Tomo Nagura is needed and yields a finish that is crystal clear and bright mirror like. A picture of the kasumi polish left by this stone on a high quality Japanese kitchen knife is shown.
Notes:
- Very, very hard
- fast cutting and noticeable and audible pleasing abrasive feeling on slurry
- lovely satiny, intuitive feedback on water only
- leaves a very very keen edge on razors
