Japanese Natural Finishing Toishi Whetstone - Stamped Vintage Okudo Tomae Asagi Nashiji

 This exceptional Japanese whetstone was purchased by us from the estate of a collector of fine razors & hones. It measures  150 mm long × 88mm wide × 20mm tall with a weight of 768 grams.

Very very old and rare Okudo Tomae for razors. This stone has the original stamping from back in the 50's when it was processed. Honing on water only gives a glimpse into how hard and fine this stone is. Creating diamond plate slurry kicks the cutting speed into third gear and black swarf immediately comes out. Using a premium Tomo Nagura will ensure shaving comfortability. Mikawa Nagura progressions are wonderful as the stone barely self slurries resulting in a very readable and audio feedback. For knives, this stone cut is very fast and leaves only black slurry. The polish is a reflective, bright semi mirror finish with great contrast. Very versatile stone in affordable koppa price. Okudo Tomae are getting very very hard to find in this level of quality and perfect razor size/shape.
