Beautifully hard and fine Nakayama for razors. This stone is Authentic and originates from the Maruichi Shop which supplied many barbers in Japan. Many counterfeit Maruichi stones are sold on Auction sites online so finding a full size authentic piece is rare and very collectible. This stone appears and performs like a stone mined from the ore pit which is known for extremely hard and dense stones with less elasticity. Water only honing is very delicate and the texture is extremely fine and silky. The stone speeds up tremendously with a little diamond plate slurry and the textures are more pronounced as well as the cutting speed which is moderate. The stone is an absolute dream for Mikawa Nagura Progressions and the feedback is extremely unique and clear. The slurry must be worked for extended periods of time to ensure proper breakdown and to maximize comfortability. Tomo Nagura slurry from the matched options yielded extremely fine results all with their own unique subtle characteristics. Overall, a museum grade, collectors piece who's value will inevitably increase with time. The Ultimate Dream Razor Hone!
