Thuringian Light Green German Water Razor Hones - Like Escher - CHOOSE YOUR STONE
Offered here are classic, old mined Thuringian water razor hones from the Sonneberg/ Steinach area in the Thuringian mountains of Germany. Most famous labelled under the Escher brand, these stones have been treasured by barbers for more than 200 years for putting a fine and smooth edge on straight razors. These particular stones are the light green variety of the slate.
These are vintage stone, collected as end cuts, leftovers from the original mined stones or a stones with irregular form or coloring.
These are natural stones, so small hairline cracks or small chips or voids on the hone sides or back may be present. On many examples we've sealed the sides and back to prevent any water from intruding into the stone during use.
Each has been lapped and is ready to use.
