This piece of Nakayama Kiita was obtained from a sword polishing supplier. It's beautiful Kiita yellow base contains a stunning array of Mizu Asagi light blues, underlying reds and Nashiji with Kan rings around the perimeter. This stone is very dense and super fine with extremely user friendly and inviting feel. Perfect for razor final finishing. When honing Kamisori, the stone has an extremely smooth and fluid feel on water only. The stone does not self slurry but starts cutting the steel immediately. Nagura progressions are very enjoyable and easily read with the stone releasing very little of itself. When slurried with a diamond plate, the stones cutting ability increases quite drastically and it's capable of removing medium grit scratches. This stone is quite versatile for its hard and fine nature and can be used for finishing razors, finishing knives, finishing tools and polishing swords.
