It makes a perfect jumping point from Synthetic medium grit stones. The Aoto removes those deeper scratches with ease and leaves a consistent base layer of shallow scratches easily removed by most natural finishing stones. Makes a great natural bevel setter and touch up stone as well. Kamisori fit perfectly on this stone but it can be used for knives, razors and tools. Kasumi finish from this softer Aoto is deep, rich and dark Jigane with hazy brighter Hagane.
