Miyazaki Aoto Japanese Natural Toishi Whetstone for Knives and Razors

This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected and purchased by us directly from Japan, then thoroughly tested and coated with cashew lacquer on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use.
Dimensions/Weight: 160mm (6.30 inches) long × 65mm (2.56 inches) wide × 50mm (1.97 inches) tall, and weighs 1211g (2.67 pounds).
This Akamonzen Aoto from Miyagawa from the natural whetstone museum in Kyoto is a typical soft Aoto which is very popular for knife polishers. It has usable surfaces on top and bottom (bottom has been freshly lapped flat). This particular stone is soft and easily self slurrying. The soft base of the stone releasing fresh particles makes this a fast cutting stone which will remove medium grit scratches and replace them with shallow ones. It leaves a deep dark Jigane and hazy Hagane.
