Mizukihara Uchigumori Jito Koppa Japanese Natural Toishi Whetstone
This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected and purchased by us directly from Japan, then thoroughly tested.
It measures 137 mm long (5.39 in) × 42 mm wide (1.65 in) × 15 mm tall (0.59 in), and weighs 242 g (0.53 lbs).
Beautiful Uchigumori koppa from The Mizukihara mine. This stone is on the hard and fine side for Uchigumori. It features some densely packed Renge and a medium dark blue base. The stone is quite fast and fine making it a perfect stone for razors and Kamisori. Water only honing with Kamisori yields a light trail of black swarf and minimal self-slurry. Creating some slurry speeds up the cutting power and adds a layer of wonderful fine texture. This stone is capable of finishing a razor and is best suited for razor pre finishing/finishing, knife sharpening/polishing, tools and swords. For knife polishing, the stone acts more like Jito Uchigumori with fine characteristics and bright, hazy Kasumi finish with beautiful contrast.
