Nakayama Akapin Koppa Japanese Natural Toishi Finishing Whetstone

This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected and purchased by us directly from Japan, then thoroughly tested and coated with cashew lacquer on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use.

It measures 130 mm long (5.12 in) × 67 mm wide (2.64 in) × 35 mm tall (1.38 in), and weighs 566 g (1.25 lbs).

This beautiful woodgrain pattern Akapin has plenty of surface area to hone razors/Kamisori and sharpen/polish knives. much like the other Nakayama Akapin This stone is quite dense and firm. Water only honing is smooth and yields black swarf with no visible self slurry. There are some superficial lines which do not scratch the steel or affect sharpening in any way.
