Very uniform and fast Sword Grade Omura stones from Kyushu. Even being a coarser Natural stone, these sword polishing stones are the first step in creating a shaped based on blades which are damaged or need coarse work all while leaving much more shallow scratches than a coarse synthetic stone. This group of stones sourced from a sword polishing expert start cutting around 220 - 320 grit. They are very efficient for natural stones and the rich mud breaks down leaving shallow scratches and finishing around 500 grit.

4020: This particular Omura has moderate hardness for Omura. It will self slurry with grit rich, gritty and uniform mud. It creates an even and consistent, coarse scratch pattern and leaves a beautiful haze on the blade. These stones are best used for repairs, bevel setting and rust removal. They can be used for razors, knives, tools and swords. The stone's slurry can be used as a natural abrasive by removing some mud and mopping it up and applying it to the blade to remove rust and polishing. This stone leaves a deep haze with great contrast between the Hagane and Jigane.

4023: This particular stone is medium hardness and standard for Omura. The stone will self slurry with ease and the mud is quite abrasive but feels very uniform. This translates to a very even and darker finish. This stone is versatile and can be used for bevel setting and repairs for razors, knives, tools and swords. Both sides are usable and vary in hardness slightly making for a natural combination stone. The mud can also be used as a rust remover/polishing agent and makes quick work of patina and surface oxidation. The mud will break down quite quickly when used as a polishing agent and the scratch pattern is quite shallow for the stones cutting efficiency.
